The Charism and Spirituality of the Divine Master Missionaries
The Charism of the Missionaries of Jesus the Divine Master is: Following Jesus, the Divine Master: Who is The Way, The Truth, The Life, and The Light. In order to imitate and manifest Christ the Master to world, the Missionaries first of all endeavour to know and understand Him by meditating daily on the Scripture, which is the basis and rule of life for all Christians. For Christ say “if you make my word your home you will indeed be my disciples” (John 8: 31).
The Spirituality of the
Missionaries
of Jesus the Divine
Master, is the imitation of the life of Jesus Christ as the Divine Master expressed in
the
Holy Gospel, with profound Eucharistic and Marian devotion
which distinguishes them as Missionaries of Jesus the
Divine Master. The Missionaries strives always to foster and increase this devotion in
them
promoting and instilling it in others especially the youth.
The Missionaries devote daily one continues hour before the Blessed Sacrament to show
the
most loving devotion and care towards this august Sacrament, the source of their
apostolate
zeal, strength, success and perseverance in the mission and vocation.
The Missionaries always manifest filial love and devotion to Jesus’ Virgin Mother and St
Joseph, endeavouring to imitate them and have them models (Can.663,4). They strive to
foster
confident devotions to the other saints of God.
Core elements of Our Spirituality
- Relationship with God: A fundamental aspect is a deep and intimate connection with God, rooted in "Divine love" with the Jesus Christ the Devine Master. This is sustained by prayer and a trusting life that leads to joy and peace.
- Imitating Jesus: The members seek to imitate Jesus as a brother, they are called to be welcoming to others and embrace the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience to follow Christ's model of unconditional love and obedience to God's will.
- Community life: Living in a community with one another fosters fraternity, solidarity, and mutual encouragement. This shared life is founded on common faith and a vision for living that is specific to the Divine Master Missionaries.
- Service to others: Our Spirituality is expressed through our work and service to God and the Church. This takes the form of teaching and healing others as a away of witnessing to God's grace and mercy.
- Witness to brotherhood: We are called to be a living reminder of the basic dimension of the faith: being a community of believers who witness to the brotherhood of Jesus.
- Ministry and evangelization: Through their daily lives and apostolic works, brothers create spaces for evangelization where they can share their search for God and the longing of the human heart. They build bridges to the laity through a simple style of life and hospitality.
“The Eucharist draws us into the very life of Christ, nourishing the soul with divine love.”
John 6:53–54 - “Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”
