Fr. Thomas OPOLOT, MIDM , MIDM
Fourth General Assistant.
Fr. Thomas OPOLOT, MIDM., is a member of the
Missionaries of Jesus the Divine (MIDM) and comes from St. Joseph’s Catholic
Parish in the Catholic Diocese of Soroti, in Eastern Uganda. After attending
his Primary and Ordinary level studies in Addesso Primary School and St.
Peter’s Minor Seminary respectively, Fr. Thomas enrolled for his Advanced
Level Studies at Mbala Secondary School.
He did his college studies at the
National Teachers’ College Ngetta in Lira and obtained a Diploma in
Secondary Education of Institute of Teacher Education Kyambogo (ITEK). He
also holds a Bachelor Science with Education from the University of Kisubi,
a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Urban University Rome, A Bachelor of
Arts in Social and Philosophical Studies from Makerere University and a
Master of Arts in Religious and Theological Studies from Makerere
University.
Fr. Thomas made his First Profession in MIDM in 2009, and his
Final Vows in 2012. He was ordained Deacon on 14th July, 2012 and Priest on
13th July, 2013.
He has served as Curate of St. Mary Assumpta Catholic
Parish Pakele, Chaplain of St. Mary Assumpta Girls’ and Monsignor Bala
Secondary Schools, Headmaster of Monsignor Bala Secondary School, Curate of
St. Mary Assumpta Catholic Parish Ragem, Chaplain of Arua Technical
Institute Ragem and Oasis Schools, Teacher of Mathematics at St. Joseph’s
College Ombaci, Parish Priest of St. Mary Assumpta Catholic Parish Ragem and
Assistant General incharge of The Secretariat of Communication of the MIDM.
Fr. Thomas also serves in the School Management Committee of Ragem Primary
School.
